Bringing friendly farm animals and hands-on learning to schools and parties across the NC Triad

At The Critter Caravan, our passion lies in inspiring a love for animals and fostering educational experiences for children. We've launched this mobile petting zoo with the goal of teaching kids about farm animals and the importance of sustainable farming in a fun, interactive, and memorable way.

Our fully mobile setup allows us to bring the farm experience directly to schools, community events, and backyards—making it accessible to children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to visit a farm. We provide a safe and enriching environment where children can engage with farm animals through hands-on learning, while discovering how these animals contribute to our daily lives.

We Offer Three Types of Event

Mobile Education Program

We are proud to offer free educational programs to public and private schools, with a special focus on elementary students. Our hands-on presentations combine fun and learning as we introduce each of our animals and share their unique roles on the farm and in society. Students enjoy meaningful, interactive experiences that bring classroom lessons to life.

Schools can choose from the following options to bring our program to their campus:

Free Option: Host a two-week online catalog sale (available to schools with 150+ students)
$10 per student for schools with 150 or more students
$1,500 flat fee for schools with fewer than 150 students

All proceeds supports the care, feeding, and veterinary needs of our animals, ensuring that all students can take part in this unforgettable experience.

Parties & Events

$225 per hour

For parties and special events, our rate is $225 per hour with a two-hour minimum required to book. During your event, up to 20 children at a time may interact with the animals from outside their enclosures. Our staff will coordinate group rotations as needed to ensure that all children have the opportunity to engage with the animals.

For gatherings with fewer than 50 children, we may, at our discretion, allow supervised entry into the baby goat pen for hands-on play and feeding opportunities with select animals.

In addition, each child will have the chance to take one or more keepsake photos with specially designated animals. These printed photographs are available for $10 each and require prior approval through a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian. Photos are printed on-site, allowing families to take home a lasting memory from the celebration.

Public Events

We’re happy to bring our mobile petting zoo to community events—fall festivals, fairs, farmers markets, and more. There’s no appearance fee for the event host; we operate on per-child admission.

Admission & Policies

$10 per child to enter the petting zoo.
Ages 5 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A parent/guardian signs a simple liability release at entry.
Optional add-ons (when available): photo opportunities and pony rides (priced separately).
